Courtney Mhalo, Social Aux Worker from the Paarl Office had a Youth Day event that was held on the 30 June 2017, at LK Zeeman Primary School. The purpose of the event was to motivate the 23, Gr.7 learners, who will be attending high school next year.

Teenagers more prone to engage in criminal activities such gang violence and drugs. Thus, it was necessary to address these issues and prepare the learners for various factors they may encounter in the community and at high school. The event atmosphere was set with icebreakers and background music. The discussion points of the event were choices, worth and dreams. The speakers, Mr. Curtus Van Kerwel, motivated the learners to follow their dreams despite their circumstances. To motivate the learners to stay in school and follow their dreams, a stationary pack was given to each learner.
